A day in Portland

A day in Portland

I wanted to see Portland for 2 main reasons, both of them unrelated to ice cream, believe it or not. I wanted to visit Chris (whom I met in Kenya) and meet his family. I wanted to visit the biggest book store in the world. But I knew 24 hours in Portland would be a very short time to explore such an interesting city… Chris picked me up in Bend.  The drive was amazing, and I was glad I didn’t…

All tuned-up and ready to go again!

All tuned-up and ready to go again!

Since the last post, I hardly made some progress mileage-wise, but managed to get a few other important things done.   Rose, Will and I rode our last miles together from Mitchell to Bend. Delightful Oregon

Delightful Oregon

Our first village after Riggins was New Meadows. Like most places that we saw on our way, this is…

Sharing the adventure in Idaho

Sharing the adventure in Idaho

I spent the last 3 days traveling with Rose and Will, whom I met at Lochsa Lodge, on my first night in Idaho. I am amazed that we are getting up at the same time, riding at the same speed, hungry at the same time (which is always), do the same kind of mileage in a day and have similar views on places to stay. I am really enjoying their company. And really happy about my decision to ride to…
